Blast Off! Middle School Summer Camp
BLASTOFF! Is a week-long summer science camp in June each year for middle school students around the Tucson area designed to give students from lower-income and underserved communities an opportunity to gain exposure to STEM.
This camp is completely funded by the University of Arizona Biochemistry club and is run by undergraduates at the university. Each day of the camp, students will partake in science activities that pertain to a subject in STEM alongside their fellow peers and camp counselors who will guide them through each activity. For example, last year, the students could participate in a Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium tour.
