I am a 5th year PhD candidate working under Dr. Zhiping Zheng in the Inorganic Division. I received her B.S. Chemistry and Mathematics degree from University of Iowa in 2012. My current research focuses on designing, synthesizing, and characterizing lanthanide-functional materials specifically for applications in proton conduction, magnetic cooling, and solid-state LEDs. I currently serve as the president of Program to Advance Women Scientists (PAWS) and have previously served as outreach chair and social chair. Within the department I also participate Alpha Chi Sigma. I have served on several committees within CBC such as graduate program committee and admissions committee. In addition to these I have taken the Chemistry Discovery course to learn more about outreach with Dr. Tomat.
