Jeff Ivie is a 5th year PhD candidate in Physical Chemistry working under Dr. Oliver Monti. He received his B.S. degree in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. His current research is focused on understanding how electronic structure at an interface influences charge transport through conjugated organic semiconductor molecules using mechanically controlled break junctions. Jeff is the current president of the Beta Tau chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma, a professional society for chemistry, in which he enjoys volunteering with outreach activities and helping out with departmental events. He has also served on several committees within the CBC Department, including the Career in Chemical Sciences Program Steering Committee, and received the College of Science Service award in 2016 as well as a Galileo Circle Scholarship in 2017. When he isn’t in lab or a cleanroom, he enjoys reading, playing games and relaxing with friends.
